Luvi Vineyard

Our Vineyard

Luvi Vineyard (formerly Manisa-Jo) is located on the Chehalem Mountain south of Hillsboro and north of Newberg. Originally planted as Maréchal Foch around 2005, the vineyard now primarily grows Pinot Noir Clone 95 (Clos de Vougeot Clone) and Pommard grafted on the Maréchal Foch rootstock. The vineyard rests on just under 2 acres at 500 ft elevation. The vines are planted on Laurelwood soil and all farming is done organically with no irrigation and no tilling.

Our Story

Growing up in Romania, we were exposed to wine culture - everyone in the country grows their own grapes and makes their own wine. Once moving to the United States, our families continued this annual tradition. The image and culture of making wines, brandies, jams and growing own fruit and vegetables was embedded from a young age.

In 2017, we were browsing Zillow as we were working on making our 10-year plan for eventual purchase of a farm property. One thing led to another and our 10-year plan became a let's do it now plan. The new abode came furnished with a bit under 2 acres of grapes, 20+ tree orchard (12 more planted in 2018), and a large berry garden with blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, and table grapes. We are excited to enjoy our life on this property with our twin 5-year old daughters, our dog Pinot, and our many chickens.
